DStv’s new changes are making subscribers angry

South Africans are angry after DStv announced it will be shutting down multiple users of its DStv Now app.

This means no passwords are shared across multiple devices – only one device can stream at a time. People took to Twitter to express their anger at the changes.

Users complained that DStv is scamming people and that the last step of satellite TV service is a bad business decision. Others said the decision was driven by greed and that the entertainment provider fears losing subscribers.

@AlisterSouth said that despite having been with the platform for years, he will be canceling his subscription.

People like @TebogoSeatlholo2 said he is only a DStv subscriber for his sports channels. He is now looking to other streaming platforms so he can cancel his subscription and continue watching sports.

Another social media user said they canceled their subscription a year ago and moved to Netflix.

@Gee_Kites says this change will be detrimental to DStv’s business.
