Isolated showers and thunderstorms expected in Gauteng on Tuesday



The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned residents of Gauteng not to leave their umbrellas at home on Tuesday when they go to work.

This is because the weather service expects isolated showers and thunderstorms in parts of Gauteng, including Pretoria, Johannesburg and Vereeniging.

Free State: Cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thunderstorms, but scattered in the southern parts and along the border with Lesotho.

Northern Cape: Cloudy along the coast with morning fog, otherwise fine and warm to hot becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, except along the coast and adjacent inland. The wind along the coast is fresh to strong from the south to southeast .

Western Cape: Cloudy along the south coast and adjacent inland with isolated light rain where it will be cool, clearing in the late afternoon, otherwise fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy in the northeast. It gets very hot in places along the west coast. Winds along the coast are moderate to strong from the south to southeast, but strong along the southwest coast.
