No murder is justified… at least that’s what the moralists will tell you. But in circumstances where a woman is mistreated by a man much bigger and more powerful than she is, the use of violence can be more than retaliation, it may be the only way an abused woman can survive.
Another worrying aspect of family and gender-based violence is that children in a family may come to believe that this is normal… and that the use of violence to get one’s way is allowed.
Violence breeds violence. Until we address that, there will be more and more women killing.
