Nádine and Derick – Is it really over?

While their social media profiles don’t give much information about the rumors that they have broken up for good, the news from African singer and TV presenter Nádine Hoffeldt and former rugby player Derick Hougaard’s split after more than four years together is spreading like wildfire.

According to roommate, Nádine posted on social media, saying: “Four years. Six months. 20 days. It is over. Last.” The message was deleted hours later.

The The Vanir-exoduss source, who has asked to remain anonymous, said it looks like it’s over for good. A source also told roommate that Nádine is “broken” and “it’s a painful situation.”

Derick apparently sounded tired and unsure of the situation when… roommate contacted him for comment on the breakup.

When they asked him if he could confirm whether it is true that their relationship is over, he said, “I don’t know. I suppose. I do not know. I can not talk right now…’

It was in an interview with the same magazine in May last year that Derick praised Nádine and said she is a formidable woman.

“She’s had 300 reasons to run away. I think it’s especially hard when someone knows what you’re capable of and just won’t break the chains.”

Derick Hougaard picks up again after countless challenges since his days of fame as a Springbok rugby player and his unpleasant divorce from singer Karlien van Jaarsveld. Nádine herself had to fight for her brand during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Last September, Nádine and Derick still looked happy and in love at a wedding they attended, but according to The The Vanir-exoduss source, the events of the past few days left Nádine heartbroken and when asked for comment she apparently just started crying.

Nádine has been in the music industry for over 25 years and is currently the presenter of the SABC2 series, Music Roulette

Derick Hougaard finally reappeared in the spotlight last year, taking on a boxing match with rock singer Francois Van Coke (who won the match) in Time Square, while Nádine was his biggest fan and supported him the whole time.
