There is no doubt that Bandile Shandu will be one of the players Kaizer Chiefs will keep a close eye on for the Orlando Pirates team when the sides collide in a DStv Premiership at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Shandu’s performance for the Buccaneers was extremely outstanding and made a huge impact while playing as a right-back.
The 27-year old KwaZulu-Natal born player, who joined the club from Maritzburg United before the start of the season, suited Pirates very well, adapted well to his new environment and went on to become a regular.
Shandu scored two league goals and four goals in the Café Confederation Cup for Bucs, taking his tally to six in 27 appearances as a defender.
His work ethic and good positioning make him very dangerous for the four Amakhosi, who has been unstable.
Three of his latest goals have come in the last three games for Pirates, but with a good defender score for Shandu, individual brilliance is not something he thinks about, and he says it is vital to see the team to win. good results and that’s what he wants to see happen when they face the Glamor Boys.
“For me it’s about the team. Scoring is just a bonus. I’m going to see where I can help. I want to work to make sure we can get a good result against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday. If we get the three points, I’ll be more than happy whether or not I score,” said the versatile player.
