Fans and viewers of The Real Housewives of Durban are still venting their frustration over this week’s final episode.
After the anticlimax of the introduction of the new housewife Thobile MaKhumalo Mseleku and some heated debates at the table, the episode returned to the old drama from the first episode.
During that episode, Nonku Williams hosted an event, kind of like a redemption and to heal old wounds with the other ladies.
Her mother, Queen, gave a speech praising her daughter and in a sense it was interpreted as a sting. She said the ladies may be beautiful, but not as beautiful as she is.
“Beautiful ladies… you may be beautiful, but not like this woman”, pointing to her own face.
This did not sit well with the women, especially Annie and Londie, who have brought it up many times since.
However, Annie Ludick and London London misinterpreted what Queen said and thought she said the women weren’t pretty at all and that they were stupid.
Commentators also didn’t like that Londie sided with Annie, saying she was up against Annie who had previously stated that they weren’t friends but acquaintances.
Viewers seem to be annoyed with Annie during the episode, especially her comment that she doesn’t like people talking around her on iZulu because she doesn’t understand.
Annie is a woman of color who is married to a Zulu man. People were confused and baffled that she has not learned some aspects of the language, especially since she lives in KwaZulu-Natal.
But Annie said in the episode that she is willing to learn and understand when people speak Zulu to her.
There was a surprise return of former Real Housewives of Durban housewife Kgomotso Ndungane who was teased for the following week’s episode.
