Severed body of woman found in Eastern Cape toilet

The body of a woman cut in half was discovered in a toilet in Maclear, Eastern Cape, and a man in his mid-50s has been arrested in connection with the murder of the 27-year-old victim.

The victim, Bongeka Madini, was found in a toilet in TV Park after allegedly being raped before being killed.

According to reports, the 55-year-old man used a saw to disassemble Madini’s body.

It was reported that she had been to a tavern with a friend on Friday, February 25, and that the 55-year-old suspect had been drinking with them. However, around 10pm, Bongeka’s friend claimed she suspected Madini had left with the suspect, as this was the last time she had seen any of them.

After two days of not hearing from her friend, the panicked friend decided on Monday, February 28, to report the 27-year-old woman missing.

According to the oriental Cape Police spokesman Captain Ursula Roelefse, the man was arrested in TV Park around 4 p.m. on Monday.

“The investigation continues and the man will appear before the Maclear Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, March 3, on charges of rape and murder,” said Captain Ursula.

Bodies dumped

In an unrelated incident in Mpumalanga, a dismembered body of a 25-year-old woman was discovered near Zamani Primary School in Tweefontein.

According to the police, local residents discovered the horrific scene on Saturday and alerted the police.

It was reported that “the police quickly arrived on the scene and upon arrival discovered a lifeless and half-naked body of a 25-year-old woman lying on the floor with some body parts missing.”
