AmaZulu FC defender Thembela Sikhakhane thinks they have taken three points from their Café Champions League Group B game against Horoya AC of Sudan. He says if they can stick to what they know best, and focus more on their strengths, they’ll stand a better chance.
Usuthu did not start their campaign favorably in the group stage, losing 1-0 to Raja Casablanca in Morocco.
“The game we finished was very difficult, but we could have won it. It’s a shame we lost because of some mistakes we made in the game,” said the former Orlando Pirates man.
Usuthu meets Horoya on Friday at 9pm at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban and Sikhakhane wants them to take advantage of the home advantage.
“As we move into our second game, I think we have to use what we learned in the last one. One of the things we learned is that we have to limit mistakes. This time we have to do everything we can to win , especially since we are at home.
“The guys are in a good mood and looking forward to the game. We want to do well, do better to make sure we go through to the next round of this competition. We are new to this tournament and I think we have the We have to do things our own way, we’ve already played difficult games, like the one against TP Mazembe.
“We went to that game with a winning mentality. We wanted to win and focused more on our strengths. If we do the same this time, I think we can take full points,” added Sikhakhane.
