Spurs boss Conte says Kane is fit to beat Burnley

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has said attacker Harry Kane will be fit on Wednesday to beat Burnley in the Premier League.

The England captain was hit in the back last weekend in a stunning two-goal attempt in a stunning 3-2 win over Manchester City, which narrowed the reigning champions’ lead at the top of the league table to six points.

Conte joked during a pre-match press conference on Tuesday that Kane would play at Burnley’s Turf Moor ground even if he had one leg.

“Harry has had a blow to the back, but he has to play. Even if he has one leg, he has to play,” the Italian added.

“He is good (fit). He knows how important he is to our team.”

Conte also said Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga were still sidelined, while Sergio Reguilon was doubtful ahead of the game against relegation candidates Burnley following a recent bout of coronavirus.

“Skipp and Tanganga are recovering. They are still not ready for the Burnley game,” said Conte.

“Sergio (Reguilon), in training yesterday (Monday) he was not present and we will see today. We hope they can all recover soon.”

Despite beating City, Tottenham are eighth in the standings and seven points away from a Champions League place, although they have at least two games under their belt in all top four.
