‘Very warm’ weather expected in parts of Limpopo on Tuesday



The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned that the blistering heat felt in parts of Limpopo on Sunday and Monday will continue until Tuesday.

This after Thohoyandou and the surrounding area had a heat of above -30 degrees Celsius.

“It will be very hot in places to the north and the far west,” the weather service said in a statement statement on Monday.

Residents of other parts of the province, however, will experience partly cloudy and warm to hot weather with isolated afternoon and thunderstorms.

Weather advice for Tuesday:

Gauteng: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the north. Expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme

Mpumalanga: Hot in Lowveld areas, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon and thunderstorms, but scattered along the slope.

Northwest: fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the east

Free state: fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the east

Western parts of the North Cape: Partly cloudy in the west at first becoming fair, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but very hot in the east. Winds along the coast will be moderate to fresh in the southeast

Western Cape: Cloudy to partly cloudy at first along the coast, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but very hot in some places in the eastern interior. Winds along the coast are light northwest south of Cape Point but west along the south coast in the morning, otherwise light to moderate south to southeast. Expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme

Western half of the Eastern Cape: In the morning partly cloudy, otherwise fine and warm. Winds along the coast will turn weak from the southwest from noon and become southeast.

Eastern Half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy in the morning with isolated light rain south of the slope, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated thunderstorms over the northeastern parts. The wind along the coast is weak from the southeast.

KwaZulu-Natal: Cloudy along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Winds along the coast are light to moderate from an easterly to southeasterly direction. Expected UVB Sunburn Index: High
