WATCH: Ford teases new Everest again ahead of March 1 unveiling

Ford was first teased in December of last year and has given another preview of the all-new Everest in the form of a short teaser video.

When releasing the 20-second clip, the Blue Oval also confirmed that March 1st is the unveiling date of the third-generation Everest that will be recreated at the Silverton factory outside Pretoria next to the incoming new Ranger and the new Volkswagen Amarok

With few new hints other than the fitment of a sunroof, the Everest, which will ride on the upgraded T6.2 platform, is expected to once again seat five or seven with its outward similarities to the Ranger and the Independent thinking person

Take additional styling tips from the ExplorerThe body-on-frame Everest is expected to have the same interior as its bakkie sibling, but with improved materials and possibly more features to be more representative of a family SUV.

Developed Down Under with its editing on South African soil as part of Dearborn’ record R15.8 billion investment in Silverton last yearThe Everest is expected to derive its motivation from the same lineup of turbo diesel engines as the Ranger, all of which are in the Struandale Engine Plant in Port Elizabeth as part of a further R600 million investment

The engines in question are the upgraded single and bi-turbo diesel 2.0-litre Panther engines, as well as the highly anticipated 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6 once sold under the name Powerstroke in the F-150 in the United States

Unlike the Ranger, however, the Everest is not expected to offer the revised six-speed manual transmission. Instead, the reworked General Motors co-developed 10-speed automatic will be the only option available, although this has yet to be determined.

What is certain is that the Everest will not produce a hardcore Raptor version like the upcoming Ranger or the rumors Amarok R

Given the timing of the teaser, don’t be surprised if one last hint appears before the covers come out next month.
