Did you see that?
New Zealand’s lead batsman, Will Young, made one of the biggest catches of all time when he hung from a flying ball on the border on day four of the second Test against South Africa in Christchurch.
Young, the 29-year-old from New Plymouth, used all his 1.88m frame and long limbs to get to a well-hit ball from Marco Jansen, the Proteas all-rounder, and make quite a sensational catch.
When Jansen hit the ball on day four at Hagley Oval, at Colin De Grandhomme’s bowling, the commentator can be heard saying: “That’s a shot. Did that work out at all?”
The next moment, Young reaches out and takes the catch, much to the delight of the commentators and the audience.
South Africa, thanks to a first Test century by Kyle Verreynne and some good lower-order batting and bowling by Kagiso Rabada, going into the final day of the Test on Tuesday and needing six wickets to win the game and qualify for the series.
